Subgrade soil stabilization using marine debris: A literature review
نویسندگان
چکیده
The use of different marine residues found in the great biodiversity Peruvian coast, such as crushed mollusk shells or fan shells, can be used mechanical stabilizers for clay soils due to a change granulometry. In this article, we reviewed 74 research studies indexed databases Scopus, Scielo, Ebsco, Proquest, Springer Link, and ScienceDirect, whose publication has not exceeded seven years, with objective carrying out systematic review use, effect influence debris soil stabilizers. For purpose, analyses also physical properties mixtures were compared various types currently used. These evaluated results indicate, that Pacific razor clam shell offers lower bearing capacity when stabilizing clayey soil. However, shredded output both meet need subgrade stabilization. Based on review, it was determined addition reduces water absorption by capillarity, increasing resistance

Stabilization of Subgrade Soil for Highway by Recycled Polyester Fiber
Subgrade soil stabilization is one of the primary and major processes in the construction of any highway; also environmental authorities are concerned about the growing amount of polyethylene (PET) bottles produced by household sectors. This research in order to study effect of adding recycled polyester fiber on soil engineering properties, especially shear strength and California Bearing Ratio...
متن کاملMarine Debris Occurrence and Treatment: a Review
7 Marine debris produces a wide variety of negative environmental, economic, safety, health and 8 cultural impacts. Most marine litter has a very low decomposition rate (as plastics, which are the 9 most abundant type of marine debris), leading to a gradual, but significant accumulation in the 10 coastal and marine environment. Along that time, marine debris is a significant source of 11 chemic...

متن کاملUtilization of Soil Stabilization with Cement and Copper Slag as Subgrade Materials in Road Embankment Construction
In this study, unconfined compression tests have been conducted to investigate the impacts of copper slag on mechanical characteristics for stabilized cement and un-stabilized soil. Dozens of specimens were prepared at four percentages of cement (i.e. 0%, 2%, 4% and 6%) and five percentages of copper slag (i.e. 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) by weight of dry soil. The samples compacted into a cylind...

Another larger structure which is somewhat unusual is a 54-foot oolitic limestone arch bridge, carrying a stabilized gravel road 22 feet wide with a five-foot sidewalk on one side. This bridge spans McCormick's Creek a few hundred feet above the falls and carries the picnic ground road from the hotel to the Beech Grove area. This structure was built by the CCC camp which was located there for a...
